Miss Laurie Houts, Class of 1985, had a way of welcoming people from all walks of life into her social circle and making them feel important and included. This fund honors her comittment to social inclusion, sports, and STEM.
Dave Fadness was a community advocate and original supporter of the Gunderson Foundation. His commitment to our community was inspiring, so we honor his memory with this fund that provides scholarships to our students that have excelled in math and science and wish to study engineering in college.
Paul J Pesek was a man who lived a life full of passion and dedication. He attended Gunderson High School, where he was an active participant in the theater program, showcasing his love for the performing arts. After high school, Paul furthered his education at San Jose State University, earning his degree business and setting the foundation for his future endeavors.
Paul was deeply involved in his community, serving as a Boy Scout leader and inspiring many young individuals with his guidance and mentorship. His love for the great outdoors led him to explore numerous national parks, where he found joy and tranquility.
Paul Pesek passed away on October 25, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love. His memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and we honor him with this memorial fund.
Mary Davis, worked at Gunderson as a special education aide and later in college counseling from the mid 1990's to the early 2000's. She loved her students, and in fact hosted three foreign exchange students from Gunderson in her home when their placements fell through.
Mary passed away in September, after a battle with Alzheimer’s. To honor her years of service, her friends and family have created this memorial grant fund which will assist the special education department within Gunderson High School.
